People died because they were of an ethnicity people did not like.  They were battered and beaten.  Emancipation took over 200 years and is still in progress.  This is not a gay rights platform, the 50th anniversary of Selma, nor it should be.  Bishop Sam Green of the 12th District of the AME church paralleled suffering and remembrance through the history of Jesus.  Andrew Young, long time civil rights activist tried to use the green and global color symbols of the new blend of diversity struggles.  Only one message held true and that was of Bishop Green.    People like Tamir Rice and his death should have been commemorated, not gay civil rights struggles.
