Handling conflict between Christian brethren

Is it our Christian duty to resolve conflict between our brothers and sisters in Christ?  Caring enough to confront and then being 8 balled means that certain relationships were never genuine.  One must be true to God and humble to his word.  One must discern the desires and convictions of one's heart and pursue the truth in others until it leads to a dead end.
