Alexandra Glumac, MS, NCC, LCPC, RDDP, as a licensed mental health professional, has guided individuals through difficult life circumstances, and as an educator, she works with businesses and municipalities to promote workforce development. Today we address burnout in finance. Alexandra earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Illinois State University. She is a National Certified Counselor, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Registered Dual Disorder Professional in the state of Illinois. Her twenty years of clinical experience includes individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, psychosocial rehabilitation, chemical dependency programming and spiritual psychotherapy. “Burnout is the gradual process by which a person, in response to prolonged stress and physical, mental and emotional strain, detaches from work and other meaningful relationships. The result is lowered productivity, cynicism, confusion...a feeling of being drained, having nothing more to give.” Today we are going to talk about: (1) the stages of burnout; (2) the causes of burnout; (3) the consequences of burnout; and (4) how to practice empowerment activities.
