Joe and Tom are back to speak with Paula Segal, Head of Consumer Product at SeatGeek, and discuss her journey to the intersection of sports and tech, which unexpectedly started with getting her Master’s in Medieval Studies from Columbia. Paula shares what makes SeatGeek different from other ticket-selling platforms and how the company operates with a focus on its customers. She explains some of the latest innovations in mobile ticketing and what can be brought to the experience to replace some of what was lost with the death of physical tickets. The conversation looks into the controversies with ticket pricing as well as Paula’s work to grow the presence of women in sports and tech. The CUSP Show is a production by the faculty of Sports Management at Columbia University. You can get in touch with the program on Twitter @CU_SPS_Sports.
