Good morning, today on The Meter, we will honor the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. on this federally recognized holiday in his name. King is known for his opposition to racial inequality and for his leadership during the Civil Rights movement of the 1950s and 60s. King was instrumental in passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act that lawfully ended discrimination. Nearly 50 years after the great man's asassination, America is embroiled in racial strife that many say are as bad as mid-20th century struggles. Black Lives Matter, voter suppression, black unemployment, black incarnation, are linked by many to discrimination. Also, as President-elect Donald Trump enters the White House this Friday, how will President Trump solve this issues? Civil Rights icon Rep. John L. Lewis (D) GA said this past week that he doesn't accept Trump as a legitimate president and many democrats including The Congressional Black Caucus pledge to boycott the inauguration of Donald Trump.  How will this effect race relations?
