Good morning, today on The Meter, we will discuss the Biden surge. Former Vice-President Joe Biden won big on Super Tuesday taking the lead in the delegate count and capturing much needed momentum after being counted out by many political experts. Biden swept the South with huge support from Black Americans winning in states he never set foot in. Also helping Biden was key endorsements from Peter Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar who dropped out just prior to the ballots being cast. Kamala Harris has since joined the Biden team too. Once again some are saying the Party is uniting against Sanders. Sen. Bernie Sanders won the largest single prize of the night in California. Is Joe Biden now unstoppable in his quest for the Democrat Party nomination? Also, long time MSNBC Hard Ball host Chris Matthews has announced his retirement. In his most recent controversial incident, Matthews mistook for Jaime Harrison for Tim Scott. Harrison is challenging Lindsey Graham in the Senate this year and Tim Scott is South Carolina's junior senator. Both men are Black. Was this a simple mistake and identity that was blown out of proportion? As the Coronavirus continues to spread the market continues react negatively. President Trump and Vice-President Pence are spearheading America's response to keep the virus conainted. Over 400 Americans have been infected and 19 have died. A former Obama administration advisor was caught on tape saying the Democrats should use the outbreak politically. Is the virus now a political weapon? Please join the discussion at 10AM.
