Good morning, today on The Meter, we will cover the funeral for George Floyd who has been memorialized in services all over the country. Floyd's death at the hands of Minneapolis police has sparked outrage, protests, rioting, arson, and looting all over America. Protests have also extended abroad where crowds were chanting Black Lives Matter. In response to the Floyd killing, cities are considering demands to defund the police. Some universities are thinking to sever ties with local police as well. Is this a proactive solution to solve police brutality? So, we at The Meter ask YOU, what would you do? Also, in campaign news Joe Biden has offically clinched the needed delegates to become the Democrat Party nominee. Biden is now promising to solve the problem of police brutality. Is Biden the man for this job? In economic news, the DOW soared to close over 27,000 after a far better than expected jobs report. 2.5 million new jobs were added in May when an 8 million job losses were projected. The economy is recovering from the Covid-19 recession quicker than predicted. President Trump took to the podium to tout the report before heading to Northern Maine to tour a paper mill.
