Good morning, today on The Meter, we will be covering the 2020 election results. Joe Biden was elected the 46th President of the United States according to projections of most major news outlets. However, due to possible widespread voting irregularities in several crucial battleground states, President Trump has not conceded and has filed legal challenges in PA, AZ, WI, and NV, while a recount will occur in Georgia. Although it appears that President Trump has lost his bid for reelection, the results were not a repudiation of President Trump or the GOP. Republicans will gain as many as 15 seats in the House of Representatives and lost only 1 seat in the Senate with 2 runoffs in Georgia scheduled in January. Also, the Republicans gained majorties in 3 State Legislatures. If the current results hold, Kamala Harris will become the first woman and the first person of color to be elected Vice-president of the United States. Please join the discussion at 10:00 AM.
