Good morning, today on The Meter, we will remember Rush Limbaugh. The conservative icon and radio legend passed away on Wednesday morning after a year long fight against advanced lung cancer. Rush announced his diagnosis on his award winning show last February and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Trump at the State Of The Union the following day. Rush Limbaugh hosted The Rush Limbaugh Show for 37 years beginning in Sacramento, CA in 1984 and becoming nationally syndicated on August 1, 1988. Rush's show grew to 20 million listeners a week, making it the most listened to radio show in history. Beibg the center of the political universe, Rush Limbaugh was no stranger to controversy. Comment's on welfare, radical feminism, sports, race, and even birth control drew critism from his detractors. Rush Limbaugh's popularity grew and his audience continued to expanded with each liberal attack. Rush Limbaugh was also huge philanthropist raising and donating hundreds of millions of dollars throughout his career for cancer, veterans, hospitals, and children. Rush Limbaugh was 70 years old. His number 1 ranked radio show of all-time will continue with clips and guests hosts for 90 days. How will you remember Rush Limbaugh?
