Good morning, today on The Meter, we will cover Russia's invasion of Ukraine. This week Russian troops attacked Ukraine from several positions including an amphibious landing from the Sea of Azov driving to outskirts of Kiev, Ukraine's capital. As many as 400,000 refugees are fleeing the invasion. Vladimir Putin's forces hold no major cities, has not achieved air supremacy, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy remains in his country. Putin's justification is to keep Ukraine from joining NATO, despite there has been no such movement. What should be The United States' response?Joe Biden has nominated Ketanji Brown Jackson to the United States Supreme Court to replace the retiring Stephen Breyer. Brown is the first Black woman to be picked for the nation's highest court a pledge kept by candidate Biden. Jackson is Harvard educated, served on the United States Sentencing Commission, the US District Court for DC, and briefly on the US Court of Appeals for DC. Judge Jackson's Senate confirmation hearings are set to being this week. Will her questioning be as vigorous as Trump's 3 picks? Donald Trump spoke from the Conservative Political Action Conference Saturday night in Orlando on a range of topics from the Supreme Court, to election security, but also spent a good amount of time addressing the current crisis in Ukraine. Trump said "We are bringing back our country and we are bringing back our freedom," saying the "sleeping giant" of the conservative movement had been awoken. He said Republican voters will "stand up to left-wing fascists" in the 2022 election. The 45th President of The United States also said "We did it twice, and we'll do it again," teasing his presidential bid for 2024. Will Trump have the support for a 3rd Presidential Run?
