Good morning, today on The Meter, we will cover the latest in Balloon Gate. The now infamous Chinese spy balloon that recorded surveillance all over America has seemed to cause some paranoia or panic in the White House, as Joe Biden has sent fighter jets to shoot down $18 weather balloons at an expense to taxpayers of nearly half a million dollars. Is the debacle a sign that America is not ready for a serious challenge from China? Also, in East Palestine, OH a train derailment that contained toxic chemicals went ablaze and received no recognition from the Biden administration. Transportation Secretary Peter Buttigieg has barely mentioned the incident as residents complaining of eye, nose, and throat irritation are afraid to return to their homes. Their request for Federal Disaster Aid has been denied by The White House. Secretary Buttigieg's comment that there are 1,000 train derailments a year has been completely condemned. Are rural towns and communities being neglected by this government? As the 2024 Presidential election approaches, the field of candidates will expand before withdraws. This week, CNN anchor Don Lemon criticized Republican Nikki Haley as being unqualified because she's past her prime. According to Lemon, for a woman is age 50. Haley a former Governor and Ambassador is a popular figure in Conservative ranks. No Democrat has refuted Lemon's remarks giving the impression of a double standard. What is behind these remarks?
