Good morning, today, on The Meter, we will cover the civil verdict in the Jean Carroll case against Donald Trump. The jury awarded Carroll $5M in damages, claiming that she was sexually abused by the 45th President of The United and current front runner for 2024. The jury says, NO to allegations of rape but took only 3 hours of deliberation for their decision. Trump's poll numbers continue to rise as the allegations mount. How will this affect the 2024 election. Also, from New York, the retired Marine who subdued an unruly, erratic man who was making violent threats toward other passengers and died has been charged with 2nd degree manslaughter that carries a maximum 15 year jail term. Daniel Penny was seen in a video holding Jordan Neely in a headlock after Neely, who was homeless, was who was allegedly making violent threats toward other passengers that they better give hin money for food and lodging. Neely was pronounced dead after paramedics arrived. Penny was questioned by police and released. Neely is Black, and Penny is White. Protests erupted, leading to the eventual arrest. Penny has pleaded not guilty. Is this another case of racism and white supremacy or an act of bravery? Back to Donald Trump. The former President and current 2024 front-runner held a town hall in New Hampshire hosted by CNN. The questions from the young moderator Kaitlan Collins were about the past, present, and future. Collins continually contradicted Trump's answers, where Trump quickly took the offensive at the delight of the audience. Most pundits agreed that it was a very good performance by President Trump and most liberal news outlets seemed to panic the next morning. Did the town hall show voters that Trump still has the zeal for President? Please join the discussion at 10AM. The call-in number is 347-308-8933. Your input is essential.
