Good morning! Today, on The Meter, we will cover the historic conviction of a former president. The 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, was convicted by a New York City jury of 34 felony counts related to the so-called "Hush Money" payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. The jury deliberated for 9 hours and was dismissed on Day 2 before they announced their decision. The liberal media immediately made their delirious victory laps  chanting "convicted felon." The district attorney in the case, Alvin Bragg, proudly took the podium and said he did his job. Conservative pundits expressed their outrage over what they called a sham and abuse of the justice system. Trump himself spoke to reporters, "I WAS JUST CONVICTED IN A RIGGED TRIAL," many of the ads begin. Trump railed against the trial as "rigged" and called the charges a "scam" in remarks at Trump Tower on Friday. In the immediate hours following the verdict, Trump's campaign website crashed as 53 million dollars was donated to TRUMP 47, and he's expected to reach $100 million from the trial as money continues to flow in. Joe Biden also took to the airwaves and said, "The system worked, and no one is above the law." His son Hunter's trail is set to begin this week on gun charges and tax evasion. Trump's sentencing date is June 11th, 4 days before the Republican National Convention. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE CONVICTION OF PRESIDENT TRUMP? Please join the discussion at 10AM.
