Good morning. Today, on The Meter, we will cover the withdrawal of Joe Biden from the presidential last Sunday afternoon. Biden said in the best interests of his party and his country. Biden had received 14 million votes in the Democrat Party primary and had secured more than double the number of delegates needed for the nomination, which he was set to accept virtually before the Democrat National Convention began on August 19th. Kamala Harris was endorsed shortly thereafter by Biden and has since received the backing of most prominent Democrats, including the Obamas. Was this replacement necessary for the Democrat ticket? Also, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed a joint session of Congress this week about the ongoing Israel-hamas war. Netanyahu faced major protests, in particular, Union Station, where activists removed and burned the American flag and replaced it with the Palestinian flag. Rep. Rashida Talib (D) MI held up a sign calling Netanyahu a war criminal. Talib is a Muslim Palestinian. Notably, absent was Kamala Harris, along with 100 other Democrats. The Prime Minister did meet with Harris, Biden, and Trump. How will the Israeli-Hamas conflict affect the elections in November? On the assassination attempt on President Trump, the FBI finally confirmed that it was indeed a bullet that hit Trump. The FBI waited nearly 2 weeks before releasing their findings via a report by director Christopher Wray. Also, the Director of the Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle, resigned after being blistered during her congressional testimony where many members outright called her a liar. The Secret Service also recommended President Trump hold indoor rallies because they can't assure his safety. Is this proof of the deterioration of America's most important federal agencies?
