John Funderburk is the Senior Field Director for the Alzheimer's Impact Movement (AIM) and its connected political action committee, AIMPAC. In this role John works to build AIM's membership base and increase participation in AIMPAC. John also serves as Senior Director of Advocacy for the Alzheimer's Association. In this capacity, John oversees the Association's nationwide grassroots and grasstops federal and state advocacy programs and manages its national issue advocacy campaigns. Prior to working at the Alzheimer’s Association, John oversaw the political and grassroots outreach strategy for the American Medical Association (AMA). Before working in patient advocacy, John was the Upstate Director in South Carolina for U.S. Senator Ernest F. Hollings (D-SC) and served for seven years in the Clinton Administration as a Special Assistant to the U.S. Secretary of Education and Deputy Director of Scheduling and Advance for First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton. John is a veteran of numerous presidential, congressional and statewide campaigns.
