Monday November 25, 2024, the daughter-in-law of a frequent guest on both my radio program and my podcast – who became a great friend with whom I’d meet for lunch from time to time and in whose home I was often a guest. But for the last three or four years, my working schedule in both New York City and Washington, DC resulted in far fewer visits. I kept telling myself, I must make time to see Yvette again soon – after all she’s 90 years old now.

On Sunday November 24th Yvette Lavarre Graham died peacefully at the age of 94 years young.

We must always make time to visit our friends.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

After thirty-two years on the Christmas tree farm, studying piano for seven years and voice for two, the onslaught of her husband’s Parkinson’s and hospital trips, the end of his life, and volunteering protocol, Yvette LaVarre Graham began world traveling and studying local history. She is currently reading and taking courses, driven by a desire to know all she can, about people, places, and more. She loves her bottles of sand from the beaches, her paintings of cherished views, the smell of good coffee, and laughter. Life is too good and beautiful to live with unpleasantness, particularly when you create it, and Yvette relishes in her love of Nature and Life.
