On Saturday, House Democrats released a heavily redacted version of the memo that was created to counter Republican claims that top FBI and DOJ officials abused the FISA program to spy on a member of the Trump campaign. About a year ago we were talking about "Mack" Beggs winning the UIL state wrestling title. Beggs won again this year and still doesn't understand why people are upset about it. The Seattle Times jumped at a "news" tip: there was a Confederate flag flying beneath the American flag in the city's Greenwood neighborhood, and residents were very concerned. Only, it turns out, it wasn't the Confederate flag at all. I'll talk about it today in the "Culture War" segment.
First, Colton Haab, a student in the ROTC program at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, claimed that CNN's town hall event on the school shooting was scripted and that they censored him from asking questions that he had and, instead, insisted that he ask the questions that they gave him. CNN denied it. Then, Andrew Klein, whose daughter attends Stoneman Douglas High School, said that a CNN producer told him the day after the shooting they were looking for people to do interviews who would "espouse a certain narrative which was taking the tragedy and turning it into a policy debate." Since then multiple parents and students have made similar claims. CNN is still denying it but they do have a long history of doing exactly that, as documented by Michelle Malkin in 2016. I'll talk about this and other continuing fall-out from the Florida school shooting.
