Madeleine Westerhout was executive assistant to President Donald Trump from 2017 to 2019, and the Director of Oval Office Operations at the White House from February to August 2019. She has written a book about her experience, Off the Record: My Dream Job at the White House, How I Lost It, and What I Learned, and she is scheduled to join me to discuss it. Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best — who has denounced "mob rule" in the city amid Black Lives Matter protests and has been targeted by "aggressive protesters" — announced her resignation Monday night. New York's official count of nursing home residents who died after Gov. Andrew Cuomo forced such facilities to accept coronavirus-positive patients "could actually be a significant undercount," the Associated Press reported. This and more as time allows, plus don't forget about the Edwards Notebook and the Veteran's Tip of the Day!
