There will be peace and safety heralded by those in power. But sudden destruction will come instead. We are to Watch, as Children of Light and followers of Christ Jesus. The believer in Jesus Christ are to watch and be sober. For we are not of the darkness, nor of the night, or of the deeds thereof. We are in the light as Jesus Christ is the light and we walk in Him. We are the light shining in the darkness of humanity. The Day of the Lord comes and many sleep. Here the Apostle Paul is urging the Thessalonians on matters of importance to watch, be sober, and be found in Christ. Don't become lethargic or fall asleep as many of their day has done.
