Sardis is Dead receives the message of judgment. This is the mercy of God flowing to the group of Christians in Sardis. Judgment along with a warning means that if they listened, then mercy and fellowship with the Lord would be restored. There is no room for failure here. The message at it's core is direct and he who speaks to them is serious.

Sardis is Dead - In many societies people get caught up. Life has its ups and downs. There are rewards and costs in life. No matter who you are, living is on a temporary life line. Yet the mercy of God through Christ assures us of Eternal life and the second death has no power. In Sardis is Dead we find those in this group of believers whose faith is dead. The people were known for living, but in fact were dead in faith.  

Sardis is Dead

And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
