His success in golf was recognized early on. From college golf at the University of Georgia, to becoming #2 ranked U.S. amateur in America in 1969 and 1970 by Golf Digest Magazine, being a member of the 1969 and 1971 Walker Cup teams and a member of the 1970 Eisenhower World Amateur Cup team, his fluid swing was well known among the experts before he joined the Tour.
Allen played in 5 Masters, The US Open as well as numerous PGA Championships. His career as a PGA Tour professional spanned 15 years. He won the 1974 Tallahassee Open and regularly competed against greats like Lee Trevino, Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus.
Since retiring from the Tour in 1986, he's devoted his life to teaching, using his progressive system of learning that is based on a fundamental concept: Simple Solutions to the Swing.
