“Until Jesus Christ return what are you doing with what He has given you” Matthews 25;14-30
Here we see Jesus teaching by using a parable. A parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning. This is called the parable of the talents and it emphasizes the need for personal preparation and faithful service to the Master. Whenever Jesus taught with a parable He use things that was familiar to the audience He was speaking too so that they would be able to understand more clearly. The man travelling into a far country is a representation of Jesus. After Jesus complete all that was necessary to be accomplished on earth to complete the will of His Father, He ascended and He is now sitting on the right hand of the Father. The far country indicates the time during which Jesus is in Heaven, between His first coming and His final return, yes He is coming back. The three servants are stewards; a steward is someone who takes care of something that belongs to someone else until they return. We are only stewards, everything we have been given belongs to God. Typical these three stewards were entrusted with various tasks in accordance with their own ability. Not everyone is expected to produce the same results, but all are to be faithful with what they have been entrusted with. One received five talents, one two and one, one. At this point we must realize that the talents given were not just money. They represent you gifts, time, purpose, and faithfulness.
We are accountable to the Lord for the use of His resources. Jesus is looking for a return on His investment.
