“We should always put God first”    Matthew 6:24-34

If you take care of God's business, He will take care of yours!

24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?';

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

The verses meaning is as direct as it sounds. We are to seek the things of God as a priority over the things of the world. Primarily, it means we are to seek the salvation that is inherent in the Kingdom of God because it is of greater value than all the world’s riches. I am not saying that we should neglect our reasonable and daily duties necessary to sustain our lives, but  as Christian, there should be a difference in attitude toward them. . If we are taking care the things of God—seeking His salvation, using the Word of God as our moral compass, living in obedience to Him, and sharing the good news of the kingdom with others, which is taking care of God business, then He will take care of our business as He promised—and if that’s the arrangement, where is worrying?
