Seven Dispensations of Time”Dispensationalism is a method of interpreting history that divides God’s Master Plan, His work and purposes toward mankind into different periods of time. The Webster dictionary defines it as: the divine ordering of the affairs of the world, as by God. Dispensationalism has two primary distinctives: 1) a consistently literal interpretation of Scripture, especially Bible prophecy, and 2) a view of the uniqueness of Israel as separate from the Church in God’s program. Classical dispensationalism identifies seven dispensations in God’s plan for humanity. A divinely appointed order or age: a dispensation is not a time period, but it covers a time period, and that time spanned is an “age. Which is the entire period from the creation of Adam to the "new heaven and a new earth" discussed in Rev. 21: 1) The Scriptures divide time into seven unequal periods, usually called dispensations (Eph. 3:2), but sometimes called ages (Eph. 2:7) and days, as in "day of the Lord." These periods are marked off in Scripture by some change in God's Master Plan and method of dealing with mankind, or a portion of mankind, in respect of the two questions: of sin, and of man's responsibility. . Five of these dispensations, or periods of time, have been fulfilled; we are living in the sixth, probably toward its close, and have before us the seventh, and last: the millennium.
