“God will take care of your business. if you take care of His”   SeHaggai 1

Haggai was a minor prophet of God; he is the writer of the book of Haggai. A prophet is someone who God gives a message to be given to His people, they become God’s spokesmen. The Lord chose the Jews to be chosen people, He promised to give them a Promised Land and He did what He said. The Lord delivered the Israelites from slavery in Egypt and before He allowed them to enter the promise land He gave them His commandments to live by. In the promise Land they were living their best life. God gave them city that they didn’t build.  Houses that was full that they didn’t fill. Olive trees and vineyards they didn’t plant and the way they acted was if it wasn’t enough. After the Israelites entered into the Promised Land, they did not obey God as they should. God had warned them that if they didn’t obey Him He would allow them to be taken into captivity and take to a foreign land. They began to worship idol gods, did whatever seem right in their own eye and disobeying God.  They continued in their sins with no regards toward God. Finally, God did what He said He would do. Nothing happens unless God orchestrate or allow it. The city was razed to the ground and Solomon temple was destroyed. He orchestrated it and just as Jeremiah prophesied He allowed it for 70 years.  When the 70 year were over God had some business He wanted them to take care of.  He touched the heart of a pagan King Cyrus to allow them to go back and Jerusalem to rebuild the temple. There was a lot of opposition in Jerusalem when they got there and the people began taking care of their business, leaving God’s business undone.
