"You can run but you cannot hide"  Jonah

Sin is running rampant in society today; overflowing prisons, nightly news, and daily news headlines is a witness to these facts. Then there is child abuse, serial killings, terrorism, hate crimes, our youth killing each other and police brutality, the world seems to be filed with oppression, violence, hatred, and corruption. With everything that is going on around us and perhaps we are experiencing them ourselves. We may even find ourselves wishing for vengeance by any means necessary on the oppressors or someone that we think has harmed us.  Surely they are beyond redemption and they don’t deserve grace or mercy.  With all of this going on we can begin to understand the necessity of God’s judgment.  Yes God is slow to angry but God’s judgment is real.  We must remember, vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Look at the flood in Noah‘s time and Solomon and Gomorrah. What would you do if God tells you to pray and forgive them, and for you to take the gospel to them-how would you respond?  This is what happened to Jonah. ! God is patience giving every opportunity for man to be saved.
