“The hand of God seen but His name not written”  Esther 7

The author of the Book of Esther is unknown; some believe that it may have been Mordecai. The book of Esther may not directly mention God, yet it clearly reveals God at work. His name is not written in the book, but His fingerprints, as we say, are all over it. The coincidences, the amazing reversals, and the poetic justice that led to the deliverance of the Jews in Persia all proclaim the presence of God.  We see God’s master plan being worked out. We see that if God be for you who can be against you.  Esther, the Jewish maiden, was taken from her familiar surroundings and the care of her beloved uncle, Mordecai, and placed in the palace to become one of the women who would be used to satisfy the sexual desires of the king. King Ahasuerus enjoyed putting on public displays of his wealth and power, which included feasts. Evidently, during the feast, the king requested that his wife, Queen Vashti, come before the entire gathering of important men and officials to show them her great beauty wearing her crown, only the crown. Queen Vashti refused to put her nude body on public display, and so the king—who was not used to being denied anything—became enraged, dethroned her as queen, and banished her from the kingdom. Here we see that God will make room for your purpose. Afterwards, he made a decision to replace his wife with another woman. King Ahasuerus had a total of 400 women selected to fill the harem, from which he would eventually choose his wife and queen.

He chose Esther.
