God provided the evidence of His power and love, yet it wasn’t enough.” Exodus  14

Trapped against the sea, the Israelites faced the Egyptian army sweeping in for the kill.  The Israelites thought they were doomed. God provided the evidence of His power and love, yet it wasn’t enough. After watching God’s powerful hand deliver them from Egypt, the many miracles He performed, allowed the death angle to pass over their first born, allowed them to walk away from Egypt with their hands full of provision, and yet their only response was fear, whining, and despise. Where was their trust in God?  Israel had to learn from repeated experience that God was able to provide for them.   By focusing on God’s faithfulness in the past we can face adversities with confidence rather than fear and complaining.  They were saying it would be better to be salves in Egypt than to die in the wilderness. They had been in the wildness for 40 year and the bible says their shoes never worn out, food was provided from heaven, daily bread which was manna.   When they got tired of eating manna they cried to Moses and Moses went to God on their behave and He gave meat personally delivered to them. 

This reminds me of a scripture in Deuteronomy 6:11- I will give you houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant--then when you eat and are satisfied, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant--then when you eat and are satisfied, God provided the evidence full of provision showing His power and love and yet it wasn’t enough.
