"Everything that God has given you is not just for you." Luke 12:13-21

The word, stewardship, simply means to manage someone else's property. For the Christian, as Scripture proclaims everything belongs to God, we manage the property of our Lord until He comes back again. To discover what the Bible says about stewardship, we must start with the very first verse in the bible: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”. As the Creator, God has absolute rights of ownership over all things, and to miss starting here is like trying to pull a cart before a horse. Nothing else in the Bible, including the doctrine of stewardship, will make any sense or have any true relevance if we miss the fact that God is the Creator and has full rights of ownership of everything. It is through our ability to fully grasp this and imbed it in our hearts that the doctrine of stewardship is understood.  Psalms 24:1 “The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

”The biblical doctrine of stewardship defines a man’s relationship to God. It identifies God as owner and man as manager or steward.  God makes man His co-worker in administering all aspects of life. Starting with this concept, we are then able to accurately view and correctly value not only our possessions, but, more importantly, human life itself. We are freely given so freely we should give. God has given us time, resources, gift, and talents for the operation of life here on earth for kingdom building.
