The month of October is Breast Cancer Awasreness Month. In the United States it is known as an annual international health campaign organized by major breast sancer charities.It was first recognized in 1985, and initially the aim was to increase the early detection of the disease by encouraging women to have memmograms. Breast cancer can also be detected in men.
This is very personal to me as my mother passed of breast cancer in 2008. I have also had my own personal health challenges as it relates to being tested for breast cancer.
