Blaine Wright author of a series epic novel of historical fiction. An interstate truck driver, Blaine visited 49 states as well as Canadian provinces. A wealth of knowledge gained from his travels, & being a soldier in the U. S. Army, paired with the understanding that something left behind as a child needed to be addressed. A particular place & time seated deep into his psyche & a lifetime of consideration resulted in the knowledge that the story embedded within him had to be put to paper. White Bird, Book 1: Among the Nez Perce is the beginning of Blaine’s long journey home.

1966 or so his family relocated to the mountains of west-central Idaho. His love affair W/ that region began there, particularly with the town of Riggins Idaho.

So impressed W/ the area of White Bird he felt it was where he wanted to settle at the age of 8. The drive that night to a town where they could spend the night is forever engraved in his memory.

1976 traveling with a friend he bypassed White Bird, because the new highway didn't go directly there. Deeply saddened he couldn't get to White Bird itself they went on to Canada.

Over the years & for various reasons, Blaine camped out W/ family & friends he learned more each trip feeling a deep kinship with the land. During 1 trip he did not get up north. He felt afraid since the old White Bird pass was closed, he once again felt bitter disappointment.

2007 he confided in his wife he wanted to write a book about White Bird. They traveled back to find out the pass was still open. More joyous trips exploring the area he became acquainted W/the grand & often tragic history of the Nez Perce People whose history & beliefs should never be forgotten.

Not confident as a storyteller, he decided to do a practice run with a short story "Rusty's Tail” He discovered he could finish something & put it out to the public. blainewrightidaho.com
