After a trapping sojourn to Alaska, Brander Matthews returns to Illinois to find his mother dead and his boyhood home on the auction block. He enouncters a mysterious man named Richter, who turns him toward the Seldom Seen Mine in Pennsylvania.
Brander's efforts to recocile his past and build a new life seem doomed to fail, and the mine itself appears to have a hand in it all.
Mitch James' debut novel "Seldom Seen..." is available on the Catamount Press imprint. Appearing on the Sunbury Press Books Show with Lawrence Knorr, James discusses the book, with a dive into Appalachia, fellow authors and the deeper story to be told of this part of the nation.
