Join us today for Women Lead Radio as Michelle Bergquist, your host of Women Who Lead, interviews Alan E. Nelson, Lecturer of Management at Naval Postgraduate School. Alan is the author of “How to Bring Out the Leader in Your Daughter” and several other books on young leadership development.
Alan discusses the importance of identifying and developing female leaders between the ages of 10 and 18. Alan worked on a research team, looking at the inclusion of women in the Navy SEALs. He combined that work with his research from the last decade in the area of 5-18 year olds gifted in organizational leadership.
Alan has an MA in psych-com and doctorate in leadership from the University of San Diego. He's taught organizational behavior at Pepperdine U and the Naval Postgraduate School. He's the leading expert in young leader identification and development, developing a training curriculum called SheLead. Dr. Nelson currently serves as the Los Angeles Chair of the Institute for Management Studies, a company that provides leadership development education for large corporations. He is the author of several books, including his newest, "The O Factor," focusing on leadership development as a gift, recognized by the US Department of Education.
