I am happy to have my inspiring friend Cara Brown, who is an award-winning watercolor artist, teacher, and writer, back as my guest for Live Your Music. Join us for a conversation about Art, Beauty, Creativity, and LOVE.
Cara has been showing and selling her watercolor paintings since 2007 and teaching and leading watercolor groups since 2011. She discovered that teaching and creating supportive environments for artists to learn and grow came naturally to her. There are 25 - 30 artists who come to paint on a regular basis – it is a real community. She also leads periodic weekend workshops for watercolorists of all levels of experience.
After showing and teaching for a decade at 537 Magnolia Avenue in Larkspur, the time came for Cara to find her own art home. In February of 2023 she moved to the space of her dreams at under the tall valley oak trees at 250 Bel Marin Keys Blvd in Novato, marking a new era in Cara’s work, and in the life of the Magnolia Artists community.
The space is beautiful. Windows look out onto green space; it is quiet and has convenient freeway access and parking. Everyone is even happier in the new place. It is indeed home.
In mid-2022 Cara started podcasting with “Watercolor Conversations with Cara Brown.” The episodes are brief visits to posts from her online journal, made relevant to what life has in store now. She is also underway, writing her first book – tentatively titled “You as Artist: A Companion for the Inner Path.” Cara has never had more creative ideas – now to figure out how to make them real!
