Part Sinner, Part Saint with Aphasiana and Babbler
in Poetry
"Good and evil are not black and white. We all have a mix of naughty and nice. Poetry allows us to explore our dark sides and find our way to the light. I celebrate people who, like the founder of the show, recognize they are on a dangerous path and make the difficult adjustments to be an amazing person. Share poems that reveal the duality of our vulnerability and strength. Capture the internal battle of the demon and angel on your shoulders. Deep poetry, thoughtful commentary and fun chatter for sinners, saints and everyone in between. "

Exploring Ekphrasis' with Captain B2 & Greyeyes Smith
in Poetry
Welcome to the LNP Program, "Exploring Ekphrasis" hosted by Captain B2 & Greyeyes Smith An ekphrastic work is a vivid, often dramatic, verbal description of a visual work of art, either real or imagined. In this way, a painting may represent a sculpture, and vice versa; a poem portray a picture; a sculpture depict a heroine of a novel; in fact, given the right circumstances, any art may describe any other art, especially if a rhetorical element, standing for the sentiments of the artist when they created their work, is present. According to the Poetry Foundation, "an ekphrastic poem is a vivid description of a scene or, more commonly, a work of art." The word ekphrasis comes from the Greek for the written description of a work of art produced as a rhetorical exercise often used in the adjectival form ekphrastic. Every other Saturday, we will be sharing ekphrastic poetry inspired by the artwork prompts from each of our program related contests, and we invite you to call in and read your work.

About Art
As Sondheim wrote, "Art isn't easy," but listening to people across the globe talk about it is! Our selection of shows that fall under the art umbrella is unparalleled, because we've got the world's most beloved authors, most talked-about actors and truly groundbreaking artists discussing their work, their influences and the creative process. On any given day, join in conversation with bestselling novelists, with museum curators on major fine art exhibits, with directors and writers whose films are the talk of Sundance or Cannes, with newsmakers whose latest works are changing the face of photography, mixed media or interior design. Spoken word is also voiced here, and other forms of poetry, as are journaling, crafts and more. Yes, BlogTalkRadio is bursting with self-expression; so if you've got a creative passion you'd like to share with the world, why not host your own show? We'll have you know, that part is easy.
