Part 2: Close Up Radio Welcomes Back Johnny Joorfetz of MRWF
in Health
Jackson, MS - Johnny Joorfetz is the CEO and a co-founder of the Magnolia Recovery and Wellness Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established on Valentine’s Day earlier this year. Alongside co-founders Jody Penton and Chris Grothe, Joorfetz is committed to providing continuity of care for individuals transitioning out of residential treatment. The foundation covers a gamut of needs including sober living arrangements, life coaching, case management, peer-support, and transportation for essential activities, regardless of the individual’s financial abilities.
The Magnolia Recovery and Wellness Foundation strives to prevent the bleak prospect of homelessness or returning to a toxic living environment that many individuals face upon leaving treatment. As Joorfetz succinctly puts it, “Addiction is one of the greatest wars of our time, and our role is to support those willing to fight.”
Joorfetz’s own addiction battle began at the age of 15, prompted by personal trauma and a lack of coping mechanisms, despite his stable upbringing. His transformative journey from rock bottom to sobriety has been driven by a spiritual awakening and a newfound purpose in serving others. Active listening, he emphasizes, has been an invaluable skill in his roles, allowing him to connect deeply with those in need.
Magnolia Recovery and Wellness Foundation has already started changing lives. From individuals who were once on the brink of homelessness to veterans rebuilding their lives, the foundation ensures that each person’s recovery journey is met with personalized care and resources.

ADHD: Discovering the Languages of Love
in Health
In this episode of Attention Talk Radio, ADHD coach Jeff Copper (https://digcoaching.com) and ADHD marriage consultant Melissa Orlov (https://adhdmarriage.com) explore the challenges of managing ADHD in relationships. They discuss how ADHD impacts self-regulation which makes it difficult to manage both attention and emotions, two key elements of any healthy relationship. They also look at the concept of the five love languages and how ADHD can make it challenging to meet a partner's emotional needs, or as Melissa puts it, "filling the love tank." Listen and learn strategies to help you build a stronger and more fulfilling relationship.
Attention Talk Radio is the leading site for self-help Internet radio shows focusing on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and attention deficit disorder, including managing symptoms of ADHD in adults with ADD or adults who have children with ADHD. The shortcut to hope and healing
in Health
Parkinson's is traditionally diagnosed as a disease which only gets worse over time. This book challenges that view. Interviews of people with a Parkinson’s diagnosis from around the world reveal that it does not have to be this way. Instead, hope and self-reflection can be part of the solution to a better life. People can recover or improve, not via quick fixes or miracles, but with supporting psychotherapy and an understanding of why the body, due to chronic stress or trauma, has ended up reacting the way it does.

Close Up Radio Welcomes Back Wellness Coach Lenore Shepard
in Health
NORTHAMPTON, MA - Lenore Shepard is a Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, CBT for insomnia practitioner, and Reiki Practitioner. She is a practitioner of the Integrative Health model. That might sound like a mouthful, but it is really quite simple. Every choice we make in our life has powerful implications for our health. This includes the foods we ingest, how we respond to stress, even our thoughts, is interconnected, and if we change even one behavior for the better, it impacts our overall well-being and ability to heal. Take for instance sleep. If we do not routinely get enough sleep, we might not digest well, we will have low energy, increased appetite, hormonal dysregulation and our immunity can be compromised. Improved sleep is but one example of the integrative health concept and journey toward wholeness.
Lenore honed her natural capacity for helping others in various coaching and medicinal programs. She was first introduced to coaching in 2005 and studied at 3 schools to hone her craft. Today she runs a practice known as Coaching With Lenore, a health and wellness practice that supports clients in activating internal strengths and external resources to make sustainable and healthy lifestyle behavior changes. Her different packages are aimed at helping clients learn healthy and adaptive lifestyle patterns and behaviors, reducing their stress response, improving their diet and sleep, increasing their adaptiveness to change, deepening into self compassion, and incorporating mindfulness practices into their daily routine. She also offers spiritual counseling and works with empaths.
