JANET SHERLUND raised her family and served on nonprofit boards in education, health and the cultural arts before writing her memoir, Abandoned at Birth. Her single most significant life event was being given up for adoption at birth. Her memoir fulfills a lifelong dream of raising awareness about loss and grief in adoption, and why it takes more than love to survive that trauma. Hamilton Jackson D in honour of one David Hamilton Jackson one of the strongest advocates for the rights of the working people.. Over the years it has been known as Bull and Bread Day. Antigua also celebrated its independence. And, it is a Leap year which makes it an important election year in the United States. It is a contest for The Office of the Presidency. But we must take time for a conversation. So Let's Talk.
In three days, the citizens of America will turn out to polling stations to participate in what they consider one of the most important activities of their nation, voting to determine who will be the next president. In the campaign leading up to this great day, the advocates of the two major parties each accuse the other of being corrupt and wanting to destroy the country. To top things off, a man who has been convicted of felonies is the candidate for one of these parties. The Republican Party. Usually, people who are convicted of felonies are required to resign from their office or are removed, particularly when the office carries the responsibility of trust and integrity. Does this mean that trust and integrity are not requirements for the office of the U.S. Presidency? Why do people vote? What are they voting for? Do people vote to preserve or increase poverty, increases in the cost of living, homelessness, racial violence? Do you think that your vote determine how the country will be adminstered? Come on in. It's Okay To Say We're Smarter Than Them

Let's just be realistic here. I don't think Republicans or people that fall for their talking points are stupid to the point of not being able to function as adults.
Clearly, they've figured out things like driving to and from work. They've managed to keep bills paid well enough. Some of them are even kind of good at their jobs when they're on the clock. When we say these people are stupid, we're talking about intellectually and philosophically. These people don't read. They don't think beyond conventional wisdom and cultural and personal biases.
They're obsessed with arguing because they think that when we become exasperated and disengage, they "won." They think they've "stumped" us with their dazzling rhetorical performance. They aren't even smart enough to understand that we stop talking with them because we know they were never interested in having their conclusions challenged. They don't care about context, facts, data, or expertise. They care about who's the loudest and said the most words.
